"The answer is "age". Intel will not admit it, but even today's newest Pentium IIs and the like are actually based on designs and concepts that date back to 1974, if I'm not mistaken. That is over twenty years - which in the computer business is a very, very long time. PowerPC is, on the other hand, free from baggage, as it was created from scratch in the early 1990's."

The PowerPC originated in the 80's with the IBM POWER processors. It just tacked apple tech and Motorola tech in too. If PowerPC Had Not Succeeded,Motorola COLDFIRE 68060 would have been Mac processors(current,RISC,180 MHz).

I'll just have to take your word for it. At the time I was about 4.

Hi Brad,

I just want to say thanks for the ezine. You do sound incredibly busy but I'm grateful for whatever you have time to send out. Please don't stop - but please do hang in there a get your classes taken care of first. I'll be more than happy to wait for the next issue if I know that you are feeling a bit less pressured. Thanks again for your efforts.
