Physical Specs and Compatibility

The RasterOps Paintboard Prism GT card is a 7" NuBus card compatible with 680x0- and PowerPC-based Macs running up to Mac OS 9 as well as with G3 upgrades.

Acceleration/Resolution/Color Support

The card provides standard QuickDraw acceleration and supports the following resolution/color combinations:

640 x 480 up to 24-bit
640 x 870 up to 24-bit
832 x 624 up to 24-bit
1024 x 768 (at 75 Hz) up to 24-bit
1152 x 870 up to 24-bit

Software

RasterOps video card drivers can be downloaded from the Mac Driver Museum, where ShrinkWrap disk images are available for RasterOps Graphics Install v3.2 and v3.3, MoviePak, MoviePak2, and VideoTime.

Other Notes

MacWeek testing in 1995 benchmarked this card at 2-3x the speed of the 8100's internal video with 4 MB VRAM.
Compatible with G3 upgrades for NuBus Power Macs.
Requires flash ROM 2.0 for PPC and System 7.5.
Use Command-Shift-Option to set proper resolution, lock in with space bar.
