At least it was portable, but the 16-17 pound Mac Portable never set the world on fire. It had a crystal clear 10" 1-bit 640 x 400 pixel active matrix screen (backlit in later models), a 16MHZ 68000 CPU, and a front-mounted handle. The best thing about the Portable was probably the five-hour lead-acid (no memory effect!) battery. Options included an internal modem and either a numeric keypad or trackball.
The portable was replaced by a new line of PowerBook (100, 140, 170) models in October 1991.
