Egg on My Face
Daniel Knight - 7 January 2000 -
Well, anyone who expected any new Apple hardware at Macworld Expo ended up with egg on his or her face. The hot rumor now is that Apple will have a special hardware announcment in the near future.
As I've already noted elsewhere, a lot of the changes I and others have predicted is inevitable. The only question is when.
Looking at my predictions (0-2 means not expected, 3-5 means expected):

Out of twenty-six predictions, I struck out on sixteen. Most that I got right were right simply because no new hardware was announced.
I'll keep this on file (a) as a reminder not to second-guess Steve Jobs and (b) for the forthcoming hardware announcement.
- At least I didn't claim to have any "reliable sources" provide this information, unlike the rumor sites, which have a lot more egg on their faces.
Apple unveiled the Macintosh during the SuperBowl. Anyone want to lay odds on new hardware then?
