Recently posted in our community, someone added thermal pads to the inside of their 2015 MacBook Pro – now to be featured as a part of the “Low End Mac Mailbag“. As a part of the Low End Mac mailbag, we aim to:

“Gelid 2.5mm pad (too thick, 2mm should be perfect). Thermal are much better, less thermal throttling on the Radeon m370x (it goes into limp mode at 300-400mhz instead of 800mhz when pushed too hard without proper cooling).”

“Anyway, happy with the mod, cpu and gpu stay under 70c under extrem load with fan maxed out (was nearing 100c before). Also, new ‘Thermal Grizlly Duronaut’ paste applied.”
Someone else replied: “I did the same mod on my 2.8ghz model and it helped a lot. Only issue was that it made the computer almost impossible to use on your lap if you were really pushing it.”
