App Store promo codes for in-app purchases
Later this year, Apple is going to open the door for developers to create and distribute promo codes for any sort of purchase you can make inside the app.
- In-App purchase offer codes will include the following in the future: Consumables, non-consumables, and non-renewing subscriptions
Previously, Apple allowed special offers or discounted trial periods to be handed out by developers, or would only let you unlock free downloads for in-app purchases.

AirPods Pro 2 & AirPods 4 Beta Firmware
macOS Tahoe, along with iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 add new features to all the AirPods, which will be available in a firmware update. For now, the firmware beta is available for the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4.

New Service Program for the M2 Mac mini
Starting June 13th, Apple started a service program for the M2 Mac mini. They are saying a small percentage of M2 minis are affected, describing a “no power” issue affecting some devices made between June 16th and November 23rd 2024.
If you had any issues you can check your serial on Apple’s website. Afterward you can make an appointment at an Apple Store or find an Apple Authorized Service Provider,

iPhone XS is now Vintage
Once an Apple device is 5 years old, it becomes vintage status at Apple. This means you can still get repairs at Authorized Service Providers and Apple Stores, but only as long as parts are available – meaning they won’t make any new parts.
iPad 5th gen is obsolete
Once an Apple device is 7 years old, it becomes obsolete at Apple. Today, the 5th generation iPad joins this long burgeoning list of devices.

Apple looks to iOS 26.4 for delayed Siri AI upgrade
According to a Blomberg report: “Apple Inc. has set an internal release target of spring 2026 for its delayed upgrade of Siri, making it a key step in its artificial intelligence turnaround effort.”

Apple fixes new iPhone zero-day bug that targeted journalists
Earlier this year, iOS 18.3.1 quietly patched a zero-day flaw which was used to deploy mercenary spyware onto journalists’ iPhones. Although this was an update in February, nothing was mentioned or referenced about this until today.
