The new banner
The latest site banner takes inspiration from this year’s WWDC and Liquid Glass themes, while staying true to the Low End Mac site theme we all know and love. The goal of modernizing the site while keeping it low-resource shines through, with the lettering being more legible.

Some thoughts
After watching this year’s WWDC it’s clear the various operating systems aren’t converging, however, the definition of an “Apple device” is expanding – whether it be a Mac, iPod, Vision Pro, or an Apple Watch. While Low End Mac started in 1997 and remained focused on Macs throughout the years, we want to be inclusive of every sort of Apple device – Mac or not.
“Yeah my iPad mini 6th gen actually suddenly became extremely useful. I multi-selected a bunch of PDFs in the Files app and from the quick actions sub menu chose combine PDF to merge them into one. Typical thing I do daily on my Mac, can easily do there now. Browsing pull down menus in Safari on iPadOS… very strange” as one LEM FaceBook user put it.

The Dream
It can be imagined with the new changes and increased productivity, we will see a much wider adoption for the iPad. The dream is to keep Low End Mac going, for it to still be useful and relevant even when computers look nothing like what they do in our website banner anymore.
