Our Progress in 365 days

Hey everybody,

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this. Low End Mac has always been community-based since its creation in April 1997, helping others maximize the life of their Apple gear for nearly three decades. Since our low points between 2014 – 2018, we’ve reached several milestones along a gradual process of recovery, in a labor of love to keep the spirit alive.

Our goal is to receive consistent donations, possibly look into ad revenue again, possibly launch diversified services beyond our website (such as computer repair), so we can keep on keepin’ on. We don’t have an official donation box set up now except for the old one previously used by Dan K, so work is being done to set up a new one. We’re also open to new contributors (writers). In the meantime:
.

      .

    • Icon View: Part of the newer, mobile-friendly aspect of our website

    • Custom Icon graphics for each page and category

      .
  • New custom site graphics added in line with the site’s theme since 2016.
    .
  • Our FaceBook community has grown to over 13,350 members, we have over 690 followers on BlueSky and are mentioned among the “Vintage Computing Good Eggs” list.
    .
  • Our site now averages 2,000 – 2,700 views per day as of October 2025, with around 1400 visitors per day. It’s in the ballpark of 750K – 1M views per year, with some days seeing over 3-5K visits.

    .

The Dream

To keep Low End Mac going, for it to still be useful and relevant even when contemporary computers look nothing like what they do in our website banner anymore. Low End Mac isn’t the same as it was last year, and that’s the real plan – evolution.
