In continuation of the site updates posted before, we will continue covering changes in the form of periodic posts whether they’re big or small. We want our readers to see the changes done to the site, many small ones can be time consuming and hard to notice.

1: New Home Screen with Icon View
If you’re someone who’d rather have a set of buttons versus a news feed as your landing page.. now, “there’s an app for that“. Introducing Icon View for the Low End Mac home page – to go along with our website toolbar and news feed. This will not replace our beloved news feed of articles, but instead gives people the choice to use one or the other.
The new Home Screen with Icon View takes the site’s navigational toolbar, and turns it into something more familiar. Just like the word “Home” on our toolbar takes you to the news feed every time, this app-style home button will always take you back to the Home Screen when available. It will be placed in site navigation as much as possible, where it seems appropriate.
The goal is to have the rollout finished by the end of this week or next week, but for now this new feature has been placed in key areas where it is perceived to be most effective. Think of it as an iPhone 2G – it’s out and about, even if not in final form.

3: Refreshed “Groups” page
When you visit the “Groups” page of our website, the button-links have been refreshed to look cleaner.

4: New site Banner
Announced on October 14th 2025, this is the first change to the site banner since June 15th, 2025. Be sure to clear the browser cache for our website if you’d like to see the new banner.

5: Fixed it.
On our BlueSky account, the profile picture cut off the square logo and the banner reflected the old website banner. So both have been updated.
