Low End Mac website in 2025 and beyond! – Proposals and ideas

LEM Staff – 2024.11.29

Above: An example of what a UI refresh could look like on this website, if implemented.

Good morning… and thank you for joining today. Our website, Low End Mac has been the face of making the most out of your Apple gear for almost 3 decades, and we are soon to be entering into 2025. As time has gone by, we have watched countless Mac models be released, articles written, and web standards change drastically. Our website’s foundation has helped many individuals over the years remain productive on their Macs, as well as helping them meet their needs. We wanted to keep our website accessible to users of all types of Macs, without slowing it down like how other sites have. And so today… we present to you.. the new LEM website!

  • Ideas are fluid, of course, discussion is welcome
  • Keep design elements similar – muscle memory and familiarity
  • Website is values for information and accessibility – keep bloat down
  • UI refresh for modernity
  • Continue providing value to Low End Macs by allowing those specific platforms to be able to continue accessing the website
  • We can think of new things/features to add here without adding to the bloat
  • Let’s find a way to back this website up, too.
  • Below are some UI ideas/proposals. Let’s talk about it or make some new ideas!
  • Anything square should be rounded
  • Font overhaul/shape changes would be an effective system-wide change without being drastic
  • Link to google drive for resource files so you can edit them too, so they aren’t lost.
