The iPad mini 4 is faster, thinner, taller, and lighter than the iPad mini 3, boasting a 30% faster CPU and 60% faster graphics, which it replaces. That’s due in part to the 1.5 GHz A8 processor and in part to having 2 MB of system memory.

iPad mini 4As with iPhones and other recent iPads, the iPad mini 4 is available in silver, gold, and space gray. No sign yet of rose gold, which remains unique to the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus for now.

Because the iPad mini 4 is taller and thinner than the iPad mini 3, it won’t fit most existing cases. You’ll want to be sure to buy one compatible with the iPad mini 4.

One thing Apple did to make the iPad mini 4 thinner was to bond the cover glass to the display screen, which also make for a crisper image. Color accuracy is the best yet for an iPad mini.
