What is lemOS?

Obviously this is a website, and the entirety of the navigation is based upon images and text – to maintain backward compatibility with older devices to visit and thematic continuity. Due to the structure and navigation of this website, it increasingly functions more like an OS with many changes (albeit, a very very basic file browser at best). “lemOS” is tongue-in-cheek for calling this website an OS, in-line with how we focus on Macs and their operating systems. It just makes sense to keep up with all changes like this.

Nightly

  • In recent weeks: Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure enabled on our website.
    .
  • August 20th: Converted all site posts dating back to 1997 to utf8mb4_unicode_ci, added system language support.

  • August 21st – 22nd: Worked on changing rectangular site navigation bar to a rounded design through CSS and HTML, while also fixing things which broke in the process. Site restored by morning.

  • August 23rd: Added a Reset button to the Articles By Year browser, and fixed the site banner so it doesn’t have the off-white choppy edges. Banner should now look like it’s hovering over background. Added a new “light comet” banner to “About this lemOS” pages.

  • August 24th: Home page now takes up the full page width by default, and all navigation site links have been updated for this new view mode as the default. There is no alternative right now with a narrower home page. Shadowing added to navigation bar as well as home page separator bars.
