The 15″ MacBook Pro was the first Intel-based Mac notebook. It was soon joined by a 17″ model, and in 2009 joined by a 13″ MacBook Pro. The 17″ model was phased out in June 2012, the same time the first 15″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display came to market. The 15″ version was discontinued in late 2019, in favor of the 16″ model which joined alongside the 14″ in Late 2021 after the Apple Silicon transition.
